Virtual Sports Day 2020

Welcome to your virtual sports day.

22nd June-26th June

I have set out 10 challenges for you to do.

 

I have also uploaded videos of myself demonstrating the challenges onto your online Google Classrooms.

 

Every time you do an activity, ask your grown-up to take a photo or video of you and upload it to your Google Classroom. Good Luck!

 

 

AWARDS:

If you do 1-3 events, you will be awarded a Bronze award.

 

If you do 4- 7 events, you will be awarded a Silver award.

 

If you do 8-10 events, you will be awarded a Gold award.

 

HOUSE POINTS: 

Every event you do, & send in a photo or video of you doing it, earns 1 house point.

 

BONUS HOUSE POINTS:

3 events = 1 Bonus house point

7 events = 2 Bonus house points

10 events = 3 Bonus house points

Challenge 1. The speed bounce challenge. Use any object you like, I used a cereal box. Then jump over your object as many times as possible for 1 minute. Good luck!

Challenge 2. The blindfolded one legged balance challenge. Attempt to hold your balance on one leg for as long as you can. Good luck!

Challenge 3. Using a tennis racket or a frying pan, you have to bounce a tennis ball as many times as you can in 1 minute. If you drop the tennis ball you have to restart. Good luck.

Challenge 4. Egg and spoon race. Or, if you have neither, you can use any sort of spoon and socks, in case you don't want a mess! Good luck!

Challenge 5. You will need a ball, preferably a tennis ball. The aim is to throw the ball against the wall and catch it as many times as possible in 1 minute. If you drop it, you have to restart. Good luck!

Challenge 6. The plank. The aim of this challenge, is to hold a plank position for as long as you possibly can. Good luck!

Challenge 7. The hurdles. Many of us do not have hurdles at home. So to improvise we can use empty cereal boxes. Line 4 up and jump over them, then run around the side and repeat. As many laps as you can in one minute. Good luck!

Challenge 8. The squat. The aim of this challenge, is to perform as many squat movements as possible. Use a chair to squat down to and stand back up. Try and do as many as possible in 30 seconds. Good luck!

Challenge 9. The throw, clap and catch challenge. The aim is to throw any ball into the air and clap as many times as you can before catching the ball. Good luck!

Challenge 10. The star jump challenge. Perform as many star jumps as you can in 1 minute. Good luck!
